Damian Benders

Damian Benders leads growth and strategy across My Code's growth audiences, turning cultural insight into commercial results. As SVP, Growth & Strategic Initiatives, he is responsible for building the company's next generation of revenue. He leads My Code Political and is building new revenue lines across audio and podcasting, connected TV, and the creative IP that anchors each.

Damian built B Code from inception into one of the largest platforms for brands to reach Black audiences, growing it more than sixfold over five years.

Before My Code, he built the digital video business at iONE Digital (Urban One), driving programming and revenue across a portfolio of 70 brands and launching its emerging artist platform, A Space for Creators. His content development career began in film and independent distribution, with roles at SnagFilms and FilmBuff and as co-founder of production company Digby Ventures, whose first short film was acquired by HBO.

Damian holds a BBA in Information Technology Management from The College of William & Mary and an MBA in Marketing and Media Strategy from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

He believes story is the most durable way to connect people and change the world. This is a conviction that has guided his career choices and his ongoing support of emerging creators. After three years as Board Chair of Manhattan Neighborhood Network, the $70M community media organization, he now sits on its Emeritus Board, driving strategic partnerships and major giving.
